Middleton Magic at the Taj Mahal

Kate Middleton positively dazzled on the final stop of their tour in India. This Naeem Khan (read: Indian-American designer) was absolute perfection on her. The dress was from the designer’s 2015 Resort collection. I appreciate that she’s finally opted to do more of a pointy-toed pump and left the boring round toes in London.

Key to point out, her earrings were anything far from crown jewels. Always one to represent high street, she purchased them from Bhutan’s Tiger’s Nest monastery for reportedly less than $10 CAD.

I think Lady Di would be proud. Kate and Will certainly seem to have created a much happier memory than when Diana was photographed in one of the saddest photos ever at the Taj.

Judith & Charles Opens First Street-front Boutique

Last Thursday, Judith & Charles brought a host of stylish guests and VIP shoppers to celebrate the opening of their first street-front boutique. Strategically located in the urban heart of West 4th, the Kitsilano store is minimal yet contemporary. It highlights the strength of their beautifully tailored garments.

Like their past collections, the Spring 2014 line was clean and elegant. From quality shift dresses to refreshed leather pieces, we loved how versatile each piece was. There was no doubt that you could go from office to dinner without a shadow of being “too-corporate.” Did we mention the brand is some homemade Canadiana?  That is definitely something we can get behind!

Dove Dress: This hot pink number had guests doing triple-takes all night. Sure to be a show-stopper on any fierce female.

Joy Jumper: This was definitely our favorite piece from the collection - perfect for spring! How can you say no to a perfectly draping jumper? | Photo c/o The Style Spy

Strong Women

Our favorite part of the decor? The store featured framed portraits of not models, but strong women throughout history. From Amelia Earhart to Roberta Bondar to Frida Kahlo, it was a great way to highlight feminism at its finest.

We also had the opportunity to meet and catch-up with some fine industry peeps!

The man can design, and the man can dance. Charles has got us sold!

…We digress, but if you’re needing some great investment pieces to carry you through spring (and summer, really), head over to one of Judith & Charles’ many boutiques across Canada and US fashion capital, New York City.

Interview with a Superbeing: Victoria’s Secret Angel Lindsay Ellingson

I’m a believer that airbrushing is a girl’s best friend.  You’ve just got to stay clear headed and realize everyone does it. And no, no one expects you to actually look like that. It’s similar to what concealer does for real life.

When I had the chance to sit down with Victoria’s Secret supermodel Lindsay Ellingson, I was really hoping that she loved airbrushing as much as I do. Turns out, girl doesn’t need it. The Angel really is as stunning in real life as she is in every amp’ed up Victoria’s Secret campaign.

The world’s sexiest lingerie store opened its second largest store in the WORLD here in little ol Vancouver.  Okay, 2nd sexiest because Agent Provacateur is not to be messed with. The store is a pink boudoir fantasy and basically the stuff femmebot dreams are made of.

Lindsay on the other hand, very human. In the 1.5 hours I spent with her, 10 min of it in an intimate 1-on-1 (boys are you dying?), I found her to be sweet, naturally beautiful, and an uber professional. I’d like to note she wore a thick sweater dress during our interview. Who wears sweater dresses and still looks like that?!! Supermodels, that’s who.

Me, just hangin with a supermodel. P.S. We both had 4″ heels on. Mine were a necessity.

Check out my interview with the superbeing as we talk about her start in the wild world of fashion, her signature dance move, and what she thinks of feisty show man Don Cherry!
