I’ve never been pegged as a car enthusiast, but after the week(end) I’ve had…I may just be a changed woman.
I was faking it ’til I made it all week as we were lucky enough to check out a couple of prestigious previews for the 2013 Luxury Supercar Weekend (LSW). The official 2-day event was slated for September 7 & 8, but saw not only one – but three “pre-events” to kick it all off.
Festivities began on Wednesday, with a pre-party at the Ferrari Maserati dealership of Vancouver. Guests were treated to canapés, wine, jewelry, jets, art and, of course, beautiful cars – likely everything frequented by the most glamorous residents of Vancouver.
As Friday rolled around, VIP car enthusiasts must have been salivating at the thought of finally meeting the two stars of Luxury Supercar Weekend – the Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition and the Bugatti Vitesse. I was invited to the load-in of the cars at Van Dusen garden on Friday afternoon, and got to see these two beauties before they hit the public eye.
With words like “Aventador, Panamera and F1” floating in the garden air, this show proved that it wasn’t for the faint of heart. Not interested in cars? They also featured yachts, luxury pianos and couture fashion shows in their packed program. It’s safe to say that this garden party included high-end tea for every refined palette in Vancouver.
A big thank you goes to Justin Cheung for our inviting us and being such a great host throughout the event.
