In True [Red] Love

Bold, red lips popped up all over runways from London to New York, and it’s been touted as THE look for the Autumn/Winter 2012 season.  I’ve never taken too many risks with my makeup routine, so I decided it was time for an eye-catching change.  After hunting for the perfect red lipstick, I found the winner: L’Oréal Paris’ Colour Riche lipcolour in True Red.

L’Oréal Paris has always been my go-to brand whenever it came to mascaras. Their Voluminous Original Mascara and  Voluminous Million Lashes  are the most reliable mascaras I have ever used, not to mention they’re incredibly easy on the wallet.  Whether it’s the right amount of volume or the perfect amount of lash-separation, they’re your go-to.   But, now armed with one of their most popular lip products, I’m ready for some true [red] love.

How it stacked up:
The lipstick was rather creamy and pigmented.   It only took two swipes to get to that shade.  It was actually brighter than expected as the sticker projected a shade closer to plum. I sealed the look with L’Oreal Crayon Petite Automatic Lip Liner in Plums/Wines. L’Oreal is discontinuing this line, but a similar version would be their Infallible Never Fail Lipliner in Red/Wine. Lip liners prevent your lipstick from running or smearing, and give your lips a more defined shape – crucial for any on-the-go fashionista.
