Skyfall-ing for Bond babe style

I’ve been excited about the opening of Skyfall in North America this week. James Bond and his female encounters are always sexy, strong, suave and fantastical…things that this Soulcialite (Lien) is a fan of. I wanted a piece of it and my inner 007 aimed for looks that kill. Operative word: aimed.

Bond Girl from Tips to Toes

To celebrate 50 years of the franchise, OPI launched a special collection of thirteen nail polishes named after the films. The shades are classified as “Seductive” or “Dangerous”. The metallic gold bottle at the end of the image below is a deluxe topcoat with flecks of 18kt gold! I want.

(L-R) Golden Eye, The Spy Who Loved Me, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice, Skyfall, Moonraker, Tomorrow Never Dies, The Living Daylights, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Live And Let Die, The World Is Not Enough, The Man With The Golden Gun

The newest Bond girl, the very sensual Sévérine, is seen in the film and ad campaign wearing the dark burgundy shade Skyfall. The back of her glowing mani is kissed by the sparkly Goldeneye. Note: it can look as though you have yellowing nails from certain angles.

For my mani, I couldn’t resist choosing Casino Royale – a deep perfect for fall plum. Ms. Andrea, the not-Bond-obsessed/normal one between us, chose a classic French mani with 1 coat of Bubble Bath. We had the manis done at Crescent Nail on W. Broadway for the first time and would recommend it. Good service, comfy massage chairs, and pretty clean.

Party Like a Bond Star

The Shangri-La Vancouver with Bollinger Champagne threw a most glamourous affair the night before the film opening. The husband and I did our best to look the part while Xishi Lounge certainly did; we were welcomed by an Aston Martin DBS, gold lamé wearing Bond girls, some rousing roulette, and plenty of bubbly. At one point, a jeroboam bottle of Bollinger was sabred. Jeroboam, new word for me, aka double magnum.

I didn’t win for best Bond girl, lost to a buxom blonde, but I received lots of lovely comments on my outfit (thank you thank you thank you!). Most of what I’m wearing are oldies from my closet but some inspiration below…

Need it? Buy it.

On Him:

Suit and shoes by Hugo Boss; Shirt by Zegna; Bow tie, clipped on!

On Her:

BlouseMarciano’s Daria Bodysuit

Skirt – an oldie but similar by Asos, Rachel Zoe & Helmut Lang

Necklace – BCBG Max Azria (similar)

Earrings – Henri Bendel (similar)

The Girls – all mine

Shoes – Marciano’s Suede platform pumps

Clutch – suede & crystal by Judith and Charles. Similar by L.K. Bennett and one that I would give that left leg for by McQueen
